Everything in this shop comes straight from our cafés. Our house blends, Midtown Express and Downtown Local, are the same coffees we serve across New York, created in an exclusive collaboration with La Colombe Coffee Workshop.

Coffee

Midtown Express is our richer, darker roast and the espresso we pull in every café. Downtown Local is a smooth medium roast and our house drip. Shop coffee beans or get both in the 2-Pack.

Founder Etienne Wiik opened the first Ground Central on 52nd Street in Midtown Manhattan in 2013. Today there are 11 Ground Central cafés across New York, each a lounge-like neighborhood spot with comfortable seating, books for sale and a mural that tells the story of its block. What is Ground Central Coffee Company?

Ground Central Coffee Company is a New York City coffee company founded by Etienne Wiik in 2013. We run 11 cafés across New York serving specialty coffee, espresso drinks, matcha, tea and pastries, and we sell our house coffee blends, drinkware and apparel online.

Is the coffee you sell online the same coffee you serve in your cafés?

Yes. Midtown Express is the espresso we pull in our cafés and Downtown Local is the coffee we brew as drip. Both are exclusive blends created with La Colombe Coffee Workshop, so the bag you order online tastes like the cup you get at the counter.

Does Ground Central offer free shipping?

Yes. Orders shipping within the US get free shipping when the order total is over $75.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Yes, we ship to select countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom, much of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. Enter your address at checkout to see the shipping options and rates for your country.

Where are Ground Central cafés located?

Ground Central has 11 cafés across New York, most of them in Manhattan, in neighborhoods including Grand Central, Hell's Kitchen, Murray Hill, Turtle Bay, the Fashion District and Madison Square Park, plus a café in Lynbrook on Long Island. Every address is on our Locations page.
